Infinity Squares – a shift in perception at Velo

As part of my Touch It With Your Mind series, I installed Infinity Squares at Velo in Favara, near Agrigento. The work transformed a square-shaped room into an immersive optical experience. Using tape, I created a series of nested squares on the walls and ceiling, each one getting smaller and smaller, giving the space a sense of infinity and depth.

In the center of the room, I placed liquid-filled balls that act as lenses. As visitors moved around, these lenses distorted and reshaped the space, offering a completely new way to see and experience the work. The combination of geometric perspective and shifting reflections invited people to question what they were seeing and explore the space.
