As part of my Touch It With Your Mind series, I presented Reality Perception during our belated graduation exhibition make space—an opportunity that came after delays due to COVID. This work made me focusing on manipulating architecture and exploring how we perceive space.
In this work, I installed large walls covered in bold, shifting colors, creating a gradient that moved smoothly from one shade to another. Set within the neutral, grey architecture of the building, the vibrant colors transformed the space into something entirely different—an unexpected, almost surreal escape.
To further play with perception, I placed liquid-filled balls in the space, which acted as lenses. As visitors looked through the balls, they saw the gradient reversed, creating an intriguing distortion. The combination of the colorful walls and the lens-like balls encouraged people to reconsider their sense of space and how they saw the environment around them.
