LazerLeny Goes to Space – Material Exploration and Visual Transformation

In my first semester of the Master’s in Scenography, I created Lazeleny Goes to Space, a work that explored how materials interact chemically and physically. I experimented with liquids separating based on weight, iron powder mixed with pigment moved by magnets, and how paint floats and mixes on surfaces.

I filmed these experiments and projected the footage onto large Styrofoam balls, creating "planets" where the textures moved. The video was intentionally staccato, resembling NASA time-lapse photos of space, with the textures shifting slowly.

The work combined material research and visual art, offering a glimpse into the dynamic nature of both the physical world and the cosmos.
